I therefore have a very short time to communicate a some vital lessons in killer copy for websites.
Web copy is special - you simply cannot write for the web in the same way you would write for print Attention span - according to research you have 3-5 seconds to capture your readers attention and around 12 seconds of writing to keep it Keep it short - long articles full of block text are a no-no, try to avoid "the long scroll" Repetition is good - Unlike articles for print, repeating key themes and keywords is good news for search engines Lists, Bullets, Text Formatting and Headers - So much easier to read and highly useful to pinpoint relevant items Use quality imagery - this must support and enhance the copy
